Best Buy is a consumer technology retail company. They provide expert knowledge through their specialty sales team. The company creates a diverse workplace with a focus on employee satisfaction and engagement. 

The goal of this project was to create a store logo that would represent and give an identity to  the store at a market level.

After hiring a new General Manager the District Manager tasked them to creating an identity in a store that desperately needed it. For years the store was known as the 49ers. This did not encapsulate a store that had young and energetic employees. I approached the GM with interest in helping. I brainstormed, took notes, and spoke to fellow co workers. ​

Using what I learned I suggested the following:

  • Create a name that encouraged inclusion and diversity. 

  • Have a logo that matched the youthfulness that was unique to the store

Understanding the Problem

The ending was result was the creation of the "Super Sales Pros." Their was a common interest in pop culture and video games. Reimaging Super Mario Bros as Best Buy employees surveyed well. The replacement of bros and addition of a female character were to fix the issue with inclusion and diversity. This logo received praise throughout the company. The store's image was themed around this and was used in operation material. It led to me being offered to make the annual Black Friday store map plan. This map was displayed during a speech at a General Manager conference in 2018. It is still used as a template in the year 2022.
